Wilkes U partners with Desire2Learn
Latest update: A D2L Transition website is now available.
The selection of Desire 2 Learn (desire2learn.com) as the learning management system for Wilkes presents exciting new possibilities for faculty and students.
- On-line summer courses will inaugurate D2L at Wilkes and be live for all courses in Fall, 2011.
- D2L replaces the existing CE8 and Moodle platforms.
- Watch for the upcoming D2L transition website to provide information, updates, and knowledge sharing.
A “sandbox” environment for faculty and students to explore D2L’s capabilities will soon be on-line.
Demos for faculty and students will be scheduled this spring. Dana Burnside, Director of the Teaching Commons, will be leading transition/conversion activities with faculty.
Special thanks goes to the Learning Management System Evaluation Committee for their thoughtful, analytical assessment of LMS requirements for all undergraduate and graduate faculty and programs and for their unanimous recommendation of D2L: Matthew Koch and William Jones, Co-Chairs, Helen Davis, Fanhui Kong, Kathleen Makuch, and James Warner.
