Welcome to the Wilkes University Academic Advising Portfolio! All students who choose Wilkes embark on a journey that will take them further than they might ever have imagined. Self-knowledge, personal growth, career preparation, and an understanding of what it means to be a life long learner are the benefits of a Wilkes education. At Wilkes, you will be expected to be deeply engaged in the curriculum, a student who reads and reflects, writes and revises, experiments and documents, listens and speaks, learns and grows. We will encourage you to participate in sports, clubs, and a variety of learning experiences outside your Wilkes classrooms—study in a foreign country, internships, undergraduate research, service learning projects and much more. Along the way, you will have the support of mentors who will encourage and support you on your journey—those mentors will include faculty members, staff, fellow-students, alumni, and a network of people in the community who provide internships and other off-campus learning experiences.
The Academic Advising Portfolio is specially designed to enhance your academic advising experience and assist you in making a successful transition to Wilkes University. We encourage students to take advantage of all of the opportunities and support that is offered. The Advising Portfolio helps First-Year students to get accurate, concise, consolidated answers to common questions and guides students through activities that encourage careful planning and self-reflection about the many experiences at Wilkes.
